help the treated skin regain its normal structure. These products have been developed specifically for this purpose.

Before starting radiotherapy, customers need information about how the treatment will affect them. Particularly with regard to skin reactions, preventive measures can go a long way towards reducing or even preventing them. Preventive measures are not only important for the patient’s quality of life – they also help to avoid interruptions to treatment due to severe skin reactions, which can reduce the chances of recovery. The skin’s reactions to radiation depend on the dose, the irradiation technique, the size of the radiation field, the individual’s skin type and the patient’s general condition (nutritional status, chronic illnesses, etc.). The skin on the head and neck, in the armpits, on the chest, in the groin, and in the urogenital/anal area is particularly sensitive—more severe acute reactions often occur in these areas. Thanks to improved radiotherapy techniques, only mild radiation reactions are now common.
